Join us for a day in one of our popular and practical Bread and Cheese making workshops, run locally on our farm in Lovely Banks, Geelong.

Workshops on our farm are never just about the bread and cheese.

You get to:

  • Meet our extended family (aka our farm animals and friendly staff)

  • See what we do to live at 80% self-sustainability

  • Buy seasonal fresh produce and

  • Most of all have loads of fun!

The skills and the produce you take home will delight your family and friends, as they have ours, for many years.

What’s included in the workshops?


Cost: Costs include all ingredients you’ll need for the day

  • Cheese Making: Easy Cheeses from $75per person

  • Soft & Hard Cheeses cheesemaking $175per person

  • Bread & Cheese Making: $175per person

  • Gluten Free Workshops from $160

Duration: Session times vary based on workshop. Sessions run from 90mins (Easy Cheeses) to half day sessions (Bread & Cheese).

Refreshments: Morning tea and light lunch on the go for workshops 1/2 day)

Where: Magic Meadow Farm, 144 - 148 Emmersons Road, Lovely Banks, Geelong

What you need to bring: Apron, an Eskie/Cooler Bag and containers to take your goodies home in.

Bookings: Bookings are transferable to another date should the unforeseeable happen. 48 Hours notice is required

Class size:

  • Bread & Cheese Workshops are capped at eight people per class.

  • Gluten Free Classes are capped at 10 people per class

  • Cheese Making Workshops have a maximum of 12 people per class.

Easy Cheeses & Essentials

Easy Cheeses 1:

Gourmet Fetta Cheese, Mascarpone Cheese, Sour Cream & Homemade Yoghurt

  • Take control of knowing what’s in some of your favourite cheeses by learning how to make them yourself.

    In this workshop, you will learn how to make an incredible four products:

    • Gourmet Fetta Cheese

    In this workshop, you will learn how to make three incredible products:

    • Blue Brie

    • Ricotta

Bread, Gluten Free & Hard Cheese

Bread & Cheese:

Gourmet Fetta Cheese & Sourdough Bread

  • You may never need to buy Sourdough or Fetta Cheese again, once you learn how to make your own!

    In this workshop, you will learn how to make:

    • Gourmet Fetta Cheese

    • Traditional Sourdough Bread (You will take home a minimum of three loaves)

    • You’ll also take home your very own ‘Mother’ bread starter.

    • Complete course notes and recipes included*

    You will need to bring your own apron, an eskie/cooler bag and containers to take your goodies home in.

    Morning tea and lunch will be provided throughout the event.

    *Our Rennet is Vegetarian

  • $75.00 per person

    Includes all ingredients required and light refreshments throughout the workshop.

  • 9:00am - 4:00pm (ish) Depending on the oven.

    This is an all day event held outside. Please wear warm clothes to protect against the wether.

Hard Cheese:

Colby & Ricotta

  • Take control of knowing what’s in some of your favourite cheeses by learning how to make them yourself.

    In this workshop, you will learn how to make an incredible four products:

    • Colby Cheese

    • Warm Ricotta Cheese

    You will need to bring your own apron, an eskie/cooler bag and containers to take your goodies home in.

    Light refreshments will be provided throughout the event.

  • 10:30am - 3:30pm

    This is an all day event held outside. Please wear warm clothes to protect against the wether.

Hard Cheese:

Romano, Pepato & Ricotta

  • Take control of knowing what’s in some of your favourite cheeses by learning how to make them yourself.

    In this workshop, you will learn how to make an incredible four products:

    • Romano Cheese

    • Pepato Cheese

    • Warm Ricotta Cheese

    You will need to bring your own apron, an eskie/cooler bag and containers to take your goodies home in.

    Light refreshments will be provided throughout the event.

  • 10:30am - 3:30pm

    This is an all day event held outside. Please wear warm clothes to protect against the wether.

Gluten Free Sourdough & Cheese:

Sourdough Bread and Gourmet Fetta

  • Take control of knowing what’s in some of your favourite cheeses by learning how to make them yourself.-In this workshop you will learn the secrets to successfully cooking gluten free, breads, biscuits, cakes and more.

    You will taste pre made gluten free products, and see an end to end demonstration on how to successfully get the very best from gluten free flours.

    You will make and take home:

    • Gluten Free Sourdough Starter

    • Recipes - these will be emailed to you upon completion of the class

    • Gourmet Fetta Cheese (to be finished at home )

    You will need to bring your own apron, an eskie/cooler bag and containers to take your goodies home in.

    Light refreshments will be provided throughout the event.

    On The Day

    Gluten free flours will be for sale and other baking equipment such as thermometers, Oil sprayers, sourdough mixers, paddles, rennet and cultures, these can be paid for on the day with cash or card

    NOTE: Whilst every endeavour will be taken to ensure there is no trace of Gluten Products in the learning area there may be traces of gluten based products, nuts, eggs etc within the learning environment as gluten based products have been made in this space in the past.

    Booking into this workshop means that you understand the risks and that you take full responsibility for yourself within this learning environment

Soil Health

Soil is not a dirty word:

  • Take control of knowing what’s in your soil, why it's important and how you can help improve its quality for better plant health.

  • $30.00 per person

  • Workshop will run for 1.5 hours (2:00pm - 3:30pm)

Pruning for success:

  • Join a very informative session run by Craig Castree on pruning your fruit trees for maximum success.

  • $30.00 per person

  • Workshop will run for 1.5 hours
